Good question! The Kidscilabs™ Microscope works by having 2 curved lenses inside, precisely at the right focal lenghth for maximum magnification!
By adjusting the distance between both the lenses but also the object itself, you’ll be able to get a sharp, close-up image.
The distance between the lenses are adjusted by turning the 2 black wheels, one at the very top and one a bit further down. And the distance to the object itself can be adjusted with well…. your hands!
And yes, we can assure you it’s much better than a magnifying glass!😅
The Kidscilabs™ Microscope is suitable for children between the ages of 3-12.
But we’ve seen some child-geniuses as young as 2 years old being able to use it, although with some assistance!
Not really, the entire chassi is made of Premium ABS Plastic. And the glass lenses inside are extremely thick and well protected. Safe to say it’s super durable, as long as your little ones do not try to dance on it for a long time.
The glasses won’t have any impact on the microscope’s focal length whatsoever. And you won’t have any issues of the glasses being in the way while using it as well, just make sure not to drop them while looking down!
